I’m a certified herbalist, biologist, falconer, naturalist and marketer (weird, huh?). It’s totally OK! All of this weirdness brought me here, to Sonoran Desert Apothecary, to you! With that being said the short version is that I have a B.S in Fisheries & Wildlife from Michigan State University. After some professional work experience as a Fisheries Biologist came career change #1. That led to 15 years in the mortgage industry where I landed at Bear Stearns (you know them!). That was the dream job…sort of. Then short sellers took it down in 2008. That let to the MBA (what started in finance led to marketing…hey…follow your heart). Career change #2. I did a variety of things in marketing but I was trained by Google’s staff at a business process outsourcing center, to build their pay-per-click advertising campaigns. Very good skill!

At that point I kinda figured it out…if I can make all of this money for other people through marketing…I’m going to work for myself. So I started Sonoran Desert Bird Abatement, LLC, career change #3. I’ve been self employed for the past 6 years doing falconry based bird abatement in addition to starting a non-profit, Sonoran Desert Falconry, Inc, where we take birds of prey into Title I schools. Then Covid-19 hit. I still can’t believe it sometimes, we are living through a Global Pandemic! And since then I’ve been studying herbs, foods as a way of healing your body, and growing a few herbs. I cannot wait to share all of my continuing education with you. Which is exactly what this website and store represents. A journey!
